In today's rapidly changing business environments, organizations carry out a significant portion of their work efforts using project teams. To determine the extent to which the effective use of project teams leads to organizational success, the Center for Business Practices conducted this survey research of a broad spectrum of organizations that engage in project management practices. The survey was sponsored by ProjectWorld.
The CBP identified those project team practices that lead to high performance through a thorough search of the literature on project teams. This research revealed a set of best practices that were used to develop the questions in this survey. The goal of the survey was to learn whether or not organizations that exhibit these practices are, indeed, high performing, to confirm whether or not the practices identified are really "best practices," and to identify those practices that are most critical to the success of the organization.
The CBP surveyed senior practitioners with knowledge of their organizations' management practices and business results). Eighty-two people responded to the survey.
